Annual Stable Light Isotope Course

An intensive short course on Introduction to Stable Light Isotopes will be offered by the Isotope Node of BIOGRIP at the University of Cape Town from 22-26 May 2023.

The programme will include lectures, lab visits and tutorials on working with isotope data. Classroom sessions will outline the principles of stable isotope methods in the life and earth sciences, emphasizing the range of possible applications. The course is intended primarily for graduate students and early career researchers planning to use stable isotopes in their research, but all are welcome.  Participants will be able to discuss their interests and needs with lecturers. Many participants in previous courses have subsequently returned to the lab to analyse samples.

Fees for the course will be R3 000 for participants from outside UCT, and R600 for UCT students and staff. Those interested can register online here.
